Seriously 400-500 in CA? Is that realistic or am I dreaming? Sorry dunno much about socal
Mexico if you're wanting to spend under a mil
That’s idiotic. You can get a killer place in San Diego for well under a mil.
What are you looking for? Family friendly suburb? Coastal casita? Urban condo? Need a lot more information.
Family friendly suburb which is close to Qualcomm office. Commute to office < 15mins
Claremont had some gangs . But in your price range.
Lots of construction around Del Sur
If you don't care about school, Mira Mesa is probably the only area that meets your cost and commute. If schools are important, Poway, Scripps Ranch or Carmel Mountain Ranch are better, slightly longer commute but housing is cheaper than near the coast. BTW, are you moving from Cognizant to Qualcomm ?
Thank you! I could see some in Mira Mesa, scripps ranch. My wife works in Qualcomm and she is moving to SD from India. Cognizant made me a lazy ass.. not moving out of this until things are settled
At 400-550 you can get a 2br or maybe a 3br condo/townhome but you still have to pay HOA fees which can be from 250- 500 a month. Scripps Ranch just east of the 15 may have a few options. There may be some options in Mira Mesa. Depends on your needs and how much space and kids may play a factor. More affordable options you'd have to go far east, North up to Temecula, Murrieta, maybe even Fallbrook or south to like Otay Mesa/Ranch for decent areas.
Thanks will look in these. Yeah Couple of good condos are available but HOA is killing.. I see $300-$400 HOA per month. Will keep checking those areas
You can try poway or old poway as well. But it depends on how long you are willing to commute, if you are fine with paying hoa, if you have kids do you need good schools and all that. Some of the variables and options may rule out certain areas. 300 to 400 is probably the average hoa prices around and you really don't get much out of it. And some communities (newer) may have mello roos on top of hoa as well
Last recession prices dropped by 40% in foreclosures. News says another recession coming.
Yup.. considering that as well. So not jumping to buy one.
Op, did you wind up buying and where?

Single family Homes were listed for 625k and relisted for 600k in a matter of days. So want to know how’s the market in San Diego
