This is for msft research team working to provide solutions behind v1 projects. JD specifies req as technical software + hardware PM that can help drive software projects. During the initial PI's I was grilled upon design thinking and thought based questions from the perspective of solutions architect.
Yeah I PM in a completely different part of MS and I doubt my experience would be super applicable, but as a blanket statement definitely try to understand the product you'll be on and the space it exists in as thoroughly as possible, think of ideas to improve it and be ready to bring them up when appropriate, and have concrete examples of times where you coordinated complex tasks with multiple stakeholders.
Depends a lot on the role, org, team. Program Manager can mean almost anything at MS. Any more details?
