We're either lower or middle income class people on absolute scale. If you're on F1, L1 or H1 Visa think about immigration stability, health, mental peace and consistent living a quality of life. Unfortunately, for Visa workers none of these exist. There are so many non-US countries that offer very good quality of life with fast permanent residency (a/k/a green card). A better quality of life than India. They are even cheaper than the US for students also. Overall Quality Of Life is way more fulfilling. Good thing is there's a ranking of countries on quality of life and how that is measured (including affordability, government benefits, safety, education, mental health, employment protection, retirement support, surrounding environment, work life balance) High TC alone won't help you on immigration stability, especially if you're in India job market and still willing to leave India you know you're leaving for a better quality of life, to live permanently outside of India, to experience a very affordable life, to experience government benefits who can support it's citizens and permanent residents. I strongly believe health, relationships and immigration for Indian expats are more critical. Chasing high TC alone won't offer much as you age. US is not worth living even for those who are stuck in the employment based green card category backlog. You know the anxiety very well. You also know when you talk to people in your social circle living in other countries with permanent residency/ citizenship accomplished. Missing India food? Well previous Indian generations are in almost every country. Search for Indian restaurant on Google maps and you know what cities are great for your food preferences when living outside of India that is not US. My life is much better moving to one of EU countries. For a better long term life please make a decision for yourself. Speaking of competition we have more population and less jobs. Especially in times like these. Plus, More machines. More automation. More self services. Overpopulation will always bring wages down, and quality of life down. Us from the low income and middle income class will be on the struggle due to overpopulation causing competition. India. China. South Korea. and same logic applies to other countries as well. Not contributing to more population birth is another lifestyle change all of us needs to be adopted going forward.
Tbh this is not new information. A ton of people know this and still choose to move to US. If u want to retire faster, US is the place with opportunities and infrastructure. Sure currently the situation is inverted due to macroeconomics. But u don’t know how long this is gonna last. Past 10 years people have had some of the best career progressions here and market favored it. Majority of them don’t even have green cards but they don’t care. I wud May be eventually move to Europe after retirement but USA is the place to be for career and financial growth.. Risks are known and accepted
Canada is the best option, isn’t it?
It's a game of population. Everybody chasing the same country will always create immigration hotspot. That's why emphasis is on the quality of life. The best #1 option may change every year when key economic indicators are out by the government of respective countries. Quality Of Life rankings also change slightly every year as a factor of it. Today EU countries in general are the easier options, tomorrow it can be Latin America or Australia. BUT top 100 ranked countries don't change easily even in many many decades.
Instead of worrying everyday about visa, green card, waiting, status, citizenship why not just relax? Learn to find peace. Those things are endless. The US is a great place for career growth and opportunities to earn.
I have heard great things about Australia 🇦🇺
Honestly if ur lucky to get H1B at a good company then I think the visa concerns are overrated. Unless ur dying to get a green card
I have been in that situation and can say there is no stability on H1B. Getting an appointment for H1B stamping takes a year these days and traveling in an emergency becomes impossible. Also, even good companies are laying off people.
Also, you will literally die before you get a green card if you were to apply today
Indians who come to the US for education are mostly middle class and upper middle class, not lower middle class.
I agree on that. Us is golden cage
Only the government benefits for citizens and permanent residents protect low income and middle income class people. Hence lack of immigration stability of visa workers directly impact quality of life. Generally the top investors are part of board of directors. They vote on the monetary rewards and performance goals for Chairman and the CEO. So CEO & Chairman often resort to layoffs to save money to pay those board of directors and top investor companies in cash or equity. This way CEO & Chairman save their own paycheck by keeping investor votes in their favor.
