UPDATE: Heading to Plaid!! Hey everyone, I've been really fortunate to receive full-time SWE offers from all of these companies, all for their respective NYC offices. The details and my pros/cons are detailed below. Let me know what you think the best choice is in the poll. Plaid: 190k first year, 170k after ++ culture ++ wlb ++ size + fintech (interested in it) + financial stability w/ visa acquisition - unsure changes w/ visa acquisition - relatively not commonly-known Atlassian: 187k first year, 142k after ++ culture ++ wlb + transparency + team-focused - size - salary Snap: 196k first year, 166k after ++ great user-facing product ++ name + scale/impact + modern eng environment + reputation in terms of hiring bar - team-specific experience - financially iffy in the long term Palantir: (SDE NOT FDE) 185k first year, 160k after ++ COOL product ++ impact + autonomy & ownership + reputation in terms of hiring bar + data (my favorite domain) + small teams - flat structure - hasn't made profit ever
I would say Plaid or Palantir, mostly because I think they both have really good name brand recognition (in the tech industry) and also a lot of room to make an impact (as well as learn/grow as an engineer). Snapchat and Atlassian also obviously have good brand recognition, but unless their offers are blowing your other ones out of the water, Iām not sure if there is enough upside. Obviously these are just my opinions and how I would weigh these offers for myself, so donāt take this word for word. Also it would depend on which teams/type of work you would be doing for each company. I know some companies donāt let you know until closer to your start date for new grad, but something to consider would be how interested you are in the work that the specific team is doing (not the company overall), because that will have a much bigger impact on your work experience.
I would recommend against Plaid, as it's already been acquired and therefore there is little upside left. This may not be something you care about, but it means that the level of engineering talent won't be as high anymore, as others do care about this a LOT. I would highly recommend Snap. When you are early on you really show be aiming to have the best name on your resume as possible to open doors later on. Snap is by far the most reputable company here and has the best TC. You should also consider negotiating your offers against each other for higher TC.
Thanks for the reply! Could you expand a bit more on why you think that Plaid's engineering talent will decrease with the acquisition? I also definitely agree with you that a good name on my resume early on will help, and that's one of the strongest reasons why I'm attracted to Snap.
Seems like talent would remain good for ~4 years after the acquisition assuming Visa paid a valuation above their last funding round.
donāt join a sinking ship! @snap
Come to snap, we treat our new grads really well
Can you elaborate? Iām really interested in an insiderās perspective.

what college u go to ?
What makes you think Snap has good name?
What I meant by that is just that having Snap on my resume as a new grad will likely help open doors later on.
Which company's projects would you enjoy working on the most? You seem to have some enthusiasm about the type of work you'd get to do at Palantir. I don't think you'll have much trouble finding another job, I wouldn't really worry about which looks best on a resume.
Thanks for the suggestion! How heavily do you think I should weigh culture/wlb when making my decision?
That's just personal preference. If you've had a couple internships, you might have a good idea of what you want. If not, try some stuff out and find out what you like
Congratulations on the offer op. Hiw was the snap interview? Was it lc hards?
Snapās interview process was definitely toughest out of all of them - Iād say it was more the hardest of mediums than hards. Know your data structures
I think snap will pay way more than these others at your first promo, their senior salaries are pretty ridiculous. None of these other companies have enough upside to surpass that imo. Also best brand because their interview difficulty is >= FNG. Snap isnāt a sinking ship imo, itās potentially stagnant, but their grants are high enough that you donāt need to rely on appreciation.
Thanks for your input! Can you think of any reasons why I wouldnāt want to work at Snap?
I think the main one, which others have echoed, is the business outlook. Snap seems to have already had its hayday in the fickle industry of social media. But I could also be wrong. My perception is that engineering culture/talent and pay is pretty top notch, so still a great company.
