[PUBLIC VERSION] META Executives found Mark Z QnA "hard to watch" after layoffs

Friday after layoffs Mark Zuckerberg held a Q&A. As it has circulated in the news, employees were outraged at the SEC report showing executives received bonuses equivalent to Exceeding Expectations and Greatly Exceeding Expectations in the midst of layoffs, stock drop, and major roadmap cancelations. During the Q&A employees spammed the comments section: "Company Performance == Exec Performance" "Why did the entire executive team get EE/GE ratings when they are also directly responsible for the choices that led us to needing to layoff 20+% of the company? Where is the accountability?" During Q&A Mark responded saying regardless of company performance, C-level and VP-level individuals demonstrated "strong performance" leaving employees confused at what criteria is used to evaluate the executive team. The following week a Meta executive sent a company memo saying: "I found Q&A hard to watch because of the disrespectful tone to a lot of the questions. I hope we get back to a place where we treat everyone at work with respect no matter the circumstances and remember we are all one team working towards the same goal" Corp talk translation: Despite us removing mid-year bonuses, introducing unplanned psc cycles, and dragging out the layoff process, we the execs expect you to continue ๐Ÿ‘… our ๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿฅพ Disrespect is execs giving themselves EEs and GEs after the shitshow we have seen in stock, roadmap, and PR Disrespect is saying we are all one team, while many have been laid off and more layoffs are to come Disrespect is blaming ICs for C-level VP-level D-level clownery === This is a modified post that was #originally posted to Meta Blind but investors and shareholders need to see the lack of accountability and strategic direction. Employees do not believe in this company's leadership anymore. #FireMetaExecutives

Make future Q&A just as hard to watch for the execs!

Meta is not alone in not making execs accountable for their actions. In general, hiring quotas are determined by execs. If Meta (and other companies) overhired during the pandemic, they need to have "skin in the game" and not get rewarded for low performance. This is despicable. For execs, not getting bonuses may mean that they won't be able to buy a new yatch or a vacation home. For most employees who have been laid off, especially all those who don't have permanent resident visas, they may need to leave the US and disrupt their lives and the lives of their families. The focus is clearly on Wall Street and stock prices.

Sad but true

Not to forget that the execs got bonuses and promotions for the excess hiring in the first place.

Yeah the profits come from laying off more people so execs are right and doing a great job exceeding expectations (normally people don't expect layoffs...)

Meta is a disaster because of Zack and itโ€™s leadership team

Talking about this will get you cancelled be careful

Just imagine if exceeds expectations for execs mean simply rollback a "wrong" path of overhiring in time as for us, engineers, it means rollback a not working solution. We play with commits and code changes, they play with human lives. Not a big difference assuming we're just pawns in a big game

If Zuck didnโ€™t pay them well, he wonโ€™t have any friends. Many of his dorm room friends quit on him.
