So far I’ve looked at Fiverr, UpWork, and TopTal, but they seem less useful for US developers, either due to taking a massive cut or having demographics composed mostly of non-US developers flooding the marketplace. Are there any options I’m missing here? YOE: 2 TC: 210k
Anything with a low barrier for entry won’t be worth it to someone making over 150k. Level up in your main role or think bigger.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
Ok let me explain my point . What you really want (at least I hope you do) is a platform which does pre-screening which eliminates liars, scammers and amateurs. Not discriminates people based on their location.
No, and the real problem on those platforms is the amount of noise coming from the demographics. If you ever try to publish a contract for hire, you will immediately see what I mean: contractors are willing to do whatever it takes (including obvious lies) to win the bid. Naturally, if you come there as a contractor, you are treated like yet another desperate soul. It is not a healthy business.
Now you know what an average American thinks about H1B and Green card giveaways
The average American doesn’t think for themselves, but that’s not my problem / not my mouth to feed.
Same goes to your question - not my problem , go figure it out and compete with competition out there . It’s a free market
Skip these lowest-bidder marketplaces and build a product instead. Sell B2B, to ad agencies, direct to client, or direct to consumer.

Same experience. I don’t think there is anything.
