I enjoy my field of work, but I’m considering leaving Meta since the former is getting a little too stressful and more than half my income is garnished by Uncle Sam (especially NIIT). My main reasons for staying: 1. I would still need health/vision/dental insurance 2. I’m still building up enough experience to hop to management in a few years 3. Easy way to max out mega backdoor and increase Roth IRA principal Overall TC: highest tax bracket from trading Meta TC: 🥜 compared to overall A few responses: 1. I don’t day trade nor do I trade Meta stock. 2. If you look at my balance, gains are consistent; I’m not here to share my trading strategies. 3. NW is in the millions, but I’m lucky enough to view my job as having access to interesting research, products, professional networking, best in class benefits, etc. rather than something I need to sustain my modest lifestyle. If I was retired, I feel like I would get bored easily.
Damn what stocks do you trade?
Pretty sure it's Meta stock
Just look at any semi conductors over past 5 yrs Nvdia or AMD and you’ll see this performance is pretty bad.
What is your portfolio value. Can’t give a good answer without that info
With the risk you’re taking in stocks, you’ll be down 90% in no time and need your job back.
Long-term buy&hold is the only way to go if you want to maximize profit with the least amount of risk. This assumes one knows how to assign a valuation to a stock which is something they don’t teach in school. One would have to put in some effort and read some books. Like those from Peter Lynch.
Unless you state NW all advice is meaningless
Stop day trading while it's not too late!
Go look at meta stock
Time to buy was when it was beaten down to hell. Everyone was bashing the stock over the Metaverse even know the company was printing money. ignore the news, and pay attention to the balance sheet.
You’re going to crash hard with your trading. You should consider stopping that instead of quitting
Best time to work on a startup idea 💡
This is so dumb. I can go to casino, play 1 hand of blackjack, then take picture of my 100% gain
Bingo! OP claims gains are "consistent" which is just nonsense.
i picked up day trading this year and i’m up 70% ytd. i’m planning to stay and rotate to a relaxed role especially after grinding tt and getting 0% increase. i recommend the same
Do it for 5 years see how much you really earned.

Crossed a line with my boss
I voted stay, world seems too unstable to take a risk right now, even if conditions appear to have been met.
Damn same thoughts. I on the other hand didn’t vote because I was worried I might sway op in the wrong direction.
Times of turbulence and chaos offer the best opportunities. However not sure if that applies to you OP, seems like you need something more specific than opportunities.
