Is being good at Whiteboard coding important to get a good Data Science/Machine Learning engineer job? New college grad, Masters, not PhD. Asking for a friend.

Don’t know about DS. ML engs at google and Facebook are basically soft eng with strong ML background. Your coding has to be as good as a non ML swe.
Unless you are good at machine learning system design, leetcode proficiency is your only way to stand out.
Any good resources for ML system design ? Or is that something that comes only with experience ? (New grad here )
