I have 7 YoE experience and Iโm targeting Senior Program Manager/Strategy & Operations Manager roles. [Think L6 Amazon] Open to critical feedback. How would you rate the resume out of 10? Any other recommendations for putting out best foot forward with my profile? #tech #apple #amazon #meta #uber #doordash #uber #google #facebook #resume #jobsearch #career #netflix #microsoft #linkedin #bytedance
For those who picked 6-8, some edits required - Can you help highlight what the potential edits could be? Where do you see some room for improvement?
I'd : * Remove or redo the summary blurb at top - too generic and short. * bullets look ok to me, some are wordy / too long. Think 1-2 lines max. Think about what's the takeaway from each bullet - put that without the fluff. * remove your dean award and that whole line in education, too experienced for that. * I'd make the education section smaller or add some of your certifications, etc if you have any. 5 lines of just a BA degree is too much. * You mention public speaking, anything you can hyperlink to? That could be a differentiator
Appreciate your suggestions! I keep summary blurb as a quick 1-line description but agree, it is quite generic. Iโll redo it. Wordiness of bullet points notwithstanding, overall does the resume look readable to you?
I am targeting Europe where they seem to have some affinity towards academic accomplishments so I added it. But agree, Iโd consider removing some points there.
itโs the first decent resume iโve seen on this app ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Ahah thanks!๐
@arwayz5 you should check out resumebuzzz.com This guy builds resumes and is insanely good about making them beat ats systems that recruiters use. Me and lots of my friends used his services and got jobs almost instantly. Definitely was worth the money
What are your top two achievements where you were successful due to your skills or inane characteristics? Write those at the top in the format of - Achieved X, doing Y, using Z skill (developed during A experience/education) during YYYY period. It helped customers in N way(s). Two such stories are much more impactful to good hiring managers than the rest of the list of things
Bolden important achievements, easy to read
Yes, I made the text bold for each bullet point, highlighting competency (also to check-off some keywords). Bolding achievements as well - wouldnโt it be too much from legibility standpoint?
Recruiter spends 10s on your resume, in first 10 seconds nothing was visible to me
