Do you need to do coding for Ux or its just tool based. My spouse is looking to get into design and from non tech background. Please advise .
Typically in most larger companies a UX designer isn't doing any coding. That said, a lot of UX designers, including myself, have at least a little dev knowledge which is really helpful in being aware of technical constraints and making sure you're designing solutions that are feasible. It also helps you communicate with your engineering partners when you're working with them to get your designs properly implemented. So you don't need to be a backend expert or anything but being decently versed in front end code like HTML, CSS, and a little JS can be really valuable.
