12 years firmware engineer
Hi, I have 12 years firmware engineer experience. My salary nearly doubled in 5 years and is at 155 k . The unhappy part is the stocks. The bonus is around 15k annual but stocks are very low. I am considering moving . I don't want to work for Amazon. Can't really work long hours . Which companies have decent rsu for firmware engineer ? Thanks

You don’t want to work long hours - Apple, Amazon are out. Try car tech, Zoox, Tesla, Cruise, Lyft

Esp when CEO sleeps on factory floor
Apple has decent WLB depending on team. Avoid baseband

Sounds like you want to cruise, which rules out startups and FAANG like companies. Your best options are big hardware based corporations like Intel, Cisco, Nvidia, etc.
Try Apple Embedded Software in HID or Wireless. They have good management.
Also look into Qualcomm, TI and ARM. From what I hear Qualcomm hours are super flexible. Have you considered going into FAANG QA? You can make the same salary for perfect WLB.
What area are you head quartered in and are you willing to move to SEA, SJC, NYC?
