You don’t have too much leverage power if laid off so it’s good offer no matter what
You have almost as much power with competing offers regardless if you’re laid off or not. You have less so if you are laid off with no competing offers but you can still pass on it and look elsewhere if you’re a good candidate.
So $400k tc not including sign. Relative to normal SWE’s that’s pretty good, but can’t tell you about AI. That’s a super sweet sign on though. Did you negotiate to this or is this the first offer?
How is it 400k excluding sign on ? 220 + 550/4 = 337.5

This is a good offer. I know someone who got a similar offer in 2022(peak hiring). Given the market conditions unless you have a competing offer I would jump on that.

You got 200k higher initial RSU grant than me for the same level and YOE (at a different org though), and I got my offer during the 2021 hiring craze. If you’re doing regular SWE work and don’t have a PhD or anything I think this is a pretty standard from what I’ve seen and they won’t negotiate unless you’re a genius. AIML used to seem to get paid drastically more, but your offer is still higher than what most orgs give for 7 YOE. I’ve personally never seen anyone get less than a 10% bonus and less than 100k RSU refresh, you’d probably have to perform pretty bad for that. Personally I’ve been getting around 130k refreshers every year and ~13% bonus. Another thing that you ~could~ consider a benefit/bonus that a lot of other FAANG don’t have is the ESPP where you get the stock at a 15% discount at the lowest price between the half a year ESPP window.

You must be joking or trolling or hallucinating right ? I mean you were laid off and got an excellent offer ( assuming all this shitty story is true ) and here you are contemplating the offer ?
i am actively interviewing with other companies and they are going well. so wanted to get a sense of this offer because i really liked the team and the work!
