I would describe my usage to be average- browsing, streaming, job applying and upskilling data science skills. currently on a 2019 Intel MBP that gets hot easy
If you have external monitor attached most of the time, then probably go with 14". If not, go with 16" for bigger screen
Personal use so probably rarely external monitor
Once you experience 16', you can never go back to 14'.
M1 pro with the larger screen will last you a lifetime. Only caveat is using your laptop in the economy seat of an airplane - it’s borderline too big for that Use Case
Larger screens last longer? Why so? Is there evidence to that?
Bruh i’m saying the m1 pro 16” will last you a lifetime 14” will also last you a lifetime But if you have to ask, then minor improvements on the m2pro chipsets will never make a difference in your workflow. Stick to the m1 pro, enjoy the larger screen real estate, and save your money for the next laptop upgrade you’ll need, which will probably be in the year 2032.
Buy the cheaper M1 Pro and used the saved money to buy a 2Tb external usbC storage. 512Gb is not much internal storage and not user upgradeable.
get the newer one. have a 2021 and its hot garbage
I have 14 inch mbp, I wish the screen was larger. There is a huge difference between Intel vs apple silicone, but almost no difference between m1 and m2
M2 so you can get triple monitors.
not looking to use the xtra monitors since its personal. maybe 1 at most tbh
If there is a choice I always choose the 14". Lighter and big enough even for work.
Go with M2. M1 or M2 doesn’t matter much for the purpose unless you plan to do sidekick on it. Go with the look and feel.
Make it a poll
I would go with M2.
Beat me to it lol
