Realized recently my $25 pants from target look awful after few washes. Now that I have a tech job I can afford better. I was casually browsing Nordstrom website and saw most selvedge denim jeans cost $175+. Is this normal? Or waste of money? Tc: 200k
as much as having a pumpkin latte
Love 7forall! I have some pairs still going after 8yrs. Also, love Levi's and Abercrombie. I know Abercrombie used to be shitty but they rebranded and their denim is sooooo good. Highly recommend those 3 brands!
My first pair of 7s wore out after a couple years, my best pair have been good. As comfy as they are, I don’t think they’re good for being active in them
Try Mavi
Wtf dude, you earn 200K. 175 bucks is peanuts for a good pair of jeans
Not really, I think high end jeans are at that price range. I’m sure there’s more expensive ones, but I think they probably get brand inflation. But yeah mostly worth it. Although I go through high end denim quicker than cheap ones
Love Joes Jeans. Extremely comfortable and last a while. They retail for 150+ but you can often get a good deal at Nordstrom Rack for less than half the price
I recently filled my closet with Naked&famous denim They produce real denim which is much better then any overpriced Levi’s or any other big brand that produces 10% denim 90% trash
What’s the benefit in real denim?
Unless they are raw selvedge it's a ripoff
Uniqlo Raw Selvedge is a steal
This. I still have raw denim from over 5 years ago. They age well and looks better and better over time :)!
1. You buy clothing based on comfort. 2. Jeans are a staple in the wardrobe. 3. Expensive doesn’t mean better. 4. Do you know how to take care of jeans? Jeans don’t go for a wash after each wear, they are washed inside out ideally with cold water instead of warm/hot.
Good advice, especially on how to wash denim.
Also hang dry don’t put them in a dryer
“Normal” is kind of whatever you want it to mean. With my tech salary I don’t buy sneakers under 400 usd anymore. It’s usually 400 to 1,200 Gucci, Louis Vuitton now. Is that “normal”? Not for some, yes for others. Buying the 40-60 dollars Addidas/Nike shoes might seem “normal” to some but to others that’s too much and they prefer supermarket 5/10 dollars shoes because it’s what they can afford or because they find it dumb to spend more on shoes. So 60 dollars is “normal” to some but to others “10” is. In clothing “normal” really depends on you.
Just curious, what do you find is nicer in those sneakers? Like with denim, the difference between Levi’s and 7 for all mankind / diesel and night and day. Simply touching it you can tell the difference. With sneakers, it’s not the material or fit per se. Definitely the design will be Lux. But trying to figure out what else is the difference in quality?
With famous name luxury brands the quality is definitely higher but it depends on the item and brand. For example, the quality difference between sneakers is moderate between lux/non lux sneakers and high for other things like jackets and very high for example for some gala clothing like dressses (and almost non existent for things like t-shirts). But the prices are a lot higher than what the quality would justify. So what you end up paying in reality is the brand. People will comment on them and definitely look at you. That’s what you pay. I know it’s superficial but I like it. I swear people give you comments and questions ALL the time when you wear them. My 800 Gucci sneakers are high quality but not enough to justify that price. But you get your money’s worth on comments and stares 😂. It’s the status that you’re paying for in reality.
I’ve tried a few high end brands. I used to swear by diesel, but they wear out very very quickly. I had to buy a new pair every 6 months, it’s not worth it when it costs $200-$250. I switched to 7 for all making and I’ve been super happy. Highly advise trying em out first at a store (preferably a 7forall store) or ordering online from somewhere where it’s returnable. Once you know your size, you can get them on sales for like $99-$129.
I noticed cheaper brands don’t used 100% Jean material anymore. It’s a mixed of Cotten and Jean. They suck. What you are paying for higher price is what you used to get at lower end prices. Sucks for consumers.
How fast is the wearout for 7?
