Do conservatives still think calling the alt-right “NAZIs” is fake news?

Just asking since I’ve been in lots of arguments here where conservatives claim the alt-right don’t actually exist - or if it does exist it’s just harmless Trump supporters and represent no real threat. But then the news in the last two weeks has proven that not to be the case as the FBI arrested neo-NAZIs who are friends with the “free speech” protest organizations, Proud Boys got invited to a mainstream Republican event and went on a romper-stomper run in Manhattan, a guy using alt-right social media just shot a bunch of innocent people as well as law enforcement. Still think Antifa is exaggerating, that BLM is a danger to police? Coz, that’s not what reality looks like. Are Antifa still the real NAZIs or are the NAZIs the real NAZIs? Frankly I’m pissed that conservatives have downplayed these warnings over some misguided “team right-wing” unity and I’m upset that liberals often don’t distinguish the threat of the fascist alt right from just the regular stupidity of the RNC. Let’s take this more seriously so that people can go to their temple or black church or Muslim mosque without fear.

Why don’t you find a political forum? Seriously.

O'Reilly Media Cindy Oct 27, 2018

Omg you were so right. Everyone was so wrong. How can we make it up you.

Stop listening to FOX news, read some history and take this shit seriously?

Stop pretending that antisemitism and xenophobia and racism are just people being “edgy” on the internet to trigger liberal snowflakes?

Why do American liberal people try to pin every horrific event on their own political enemies? Do they even realize they are doing it?

Why did the German people reject NAZI-ism ? Oh yeah in the long run it fucked the country to hell, I remember ... US alt right will fuck us up even worse - stop sheltering these fuckups with FOX News

^hell, why did Americans reject the far right religion the last time it began to mainstream... oh yeah, massive federal building bombing by a right-wing pro-militia gun nut who believed that socialists were going to take over if he didn’t take action. Conservatives and Republicans (by and large) are not fascists. My criticism of them is that they’ve been excusing and appeasing fascists due to some misguided sense of right-wing unity. The fascists used to be every American’s political enemy. But then conservatives who’ve had the waters muddied for them by fantasies of fascism being far-left are really confused about the actual fascist tendencies on the far right. So, thinking that only the left can be “the real NAZIs” they’ve invited proud boys to mainstream Republican events, used whataboutism and “both sides arguments” (to be fair, liberals originated that one before Trump said it) to try and deflect criticism about the far right extremists. It’s beyond me why conservatives would tolerate and make excuses for fascist alt right people who turn around and call them “cuckservatives” and would kill conservatives who got in their way if they ever got any power.

Equating alt-right and right is fake news.

Apple Jim Cook Oct 27, 2018

Not surprised they are trying to downplay them. The dirty little secret is the basis of these extremists/ nazis’ motivation (racial/ ethnic hatred) is the core of Trump’s appeal. The fact is that these people aren’t some extremists off the Trump reservation - they are just more shameless in expressing themselves and more violent than your average Trump supporter.

Conservativism is not related to alt-right. Seriously, all them alt-right idiots want big government with big social programs just like the leftists. They're as racist as leftists too. Leftists are starting to be even more racist in my opinion. Why is race still even a thing? Affirmative action is racism. You don't get a united society by dividing people up by arbitrary groupings. Conservatives believe in the power of the individual, and keeping the liberty promised in the constitution.

You’re right that the far-right are not like conservatives, but wrong about the equation with the left. Believing in identity politics might be wrong, but there’s no symmetry between that and people who want ethnic cleansing and ethic states, even if those white nationalists use identity politics language.

Can you give a TL;DR? Looks small brained but can’t be bothered to read your entire rant

Expedia Ytdj51 Oct 27, 2018

Ok... alt right and conservatives are not the same. Just like Antifa and progressives are not the same. Alt right and Antifa are both political fanatical fringe elements.

Credit Karma EllisDee25 OP Oct 27, 2018

What do you think conservatives can do to help prevent the far right from gaining more ground and encouraging blackshirt tactics like the Proud Boys and lone wolf attacks like in Pittsburgh or the anti-immigrant terrorists in Europe shooting people in refugee camps? What should liberals do to help prevent this threat from the far-right?

Amazon toil Oct 27, 2018

Lefties should condemn the fascist organization called antifa. :D

Credit Karma EllisDee25 OP Oct 27, 2018

Condemn why? Because Antifa were correct about the so-called “free speech” rallies just being a front for crypto-NAZIs to try and intimidate people and recruit some of the more naive Trump supporters to their cause? Fascist, how? Did the blitz of London and the bombing of Berlin make the NAZIs and allies basically the same thing? Both sides were just as bad?

Conservatism is so much more than anti-Semitism. It's anti-Hispanicism, anti-immigrism, anti-scientism, anti-individualism, anti-taxism, anti-native-americanism, anti-votingism, anti-americism(russianism). basically it's anti-*. (which re.matches anti-christ)
