Got an offer from Deutsche Bank @NC location for the SDE, Associate role. TC: 110K I saw several articles that Deutsche is on the verge of bankruptcy and potentially can result in a huge layoff in 2023 and also that in fact it laid off 20,000 employees in 2019. Suggestions if Deutsche is safe to join at this time? Also, any insights on the work culture at Deutsche within the Engineering/CS Org? Current TC: 90k #deutschebank #tech #finance #engineering #software
They just told me that they are hiring like crazy couple months ago
Revenue wise they are doing good from the last 11 quarters. In fact they have the highest profit this year after 2006. And wlb is amazing here. So, in my opinion you can join.
Can you share the article links of DB on the verge of bankruptcy? Also the 20k laid off employees article ?
The 18,000 lay offs globally was from 2019 and was mainly in equities space (which was sold). From a tech hiring perspective, there’s huge growth planned on the back of profitable businesses in FIC and corporate bank. Additionally, DB is exiting Russia where there was a very strong tech center, now those headcount are needed in Cary, NC tech center or Berlin.
