Should I go back to school for a CS Degree? That is what my former community member recommended. He is a tech entrepreneur who has a degree in Biology. Did only 1 year of programming. Owns an ISP that has 20,000-22,000 customers in the US. Maybe far more Internationally at his other ISP. US company is worth $200M. International company? Unsure? Anyway, he recommended I go back to school to do programming, because I don’t have the motivation to start a company, or so he thinks? He thinks i’d like being a CS programmer, which is the polar opposite of what I think. I was surprised he’d recommend that route even though he doesn’t and pays programmers to make his apps.
Have you seen The Graduate? People are going to give you all sorts of bullshit advice (plastics). You'll just need to figure out your own life.
2023 one?
I guess you’re right. I know he means good intentions because I know he said it’ll help your self-esteem / confidence / etc, credibility. I liked 50% of what he said, but the part assuming i’d like programming as a career was far from the truth.
Have him pay for your degree and secure a job at the end in exchange for slightly lower pay lol. What’s the point of having rich friends if you can’t make a deal?
Honestly, i’m more into software development. Making things like Uber etc. I don’t think I need a CS degree for that? Right? I like the idea of AI etc, but as a hobby…
Who cares? You could have said him to go back to his moms vagene
