I came into some money about 20k and want to invest them in potentially high return stocks. I have invested about 100k in VOO,qqq, vgt etc. Would It be a bad idea to put 10k each in amd and Nvidia? Should I buy in a lump sum or DCA?
Yes it would be a bad idea. Almost all professional investors underperform the market. You don’t have any information they don’t have. Put it all in VOO asap because lump sum beats DCA 68% of the time https://investor.vanguard.com/investor-resources-education/news/lump-sum-investing-versus-cost-averaging-which-is-better Edit: Anything close to a total market index fund is fine (VT, VTI, SPY, etc)
VT
MGK is worth a look too.
Why not buy soxx?
You can do whatever you want with your money. But don't ask random strangers for the investment ideas.
Should this post be a sign of a top and signal to sell for the rest of the market?
1) Nvidia's major customers have been developing alternate products, and they are getting good at it. 2) AMD is catching up and they will eventually take some market share 1 and 2 will drive the price of the GPUs and Nvidia's margins down.
Do you think AMD and others can replicate nvidia's hardware and software stack anytime soon? They also have to adapt frameworks like pytorch and jax to the new stack and the new training and inference stacks have to be high performance.
History repeats itself.
Keep cash for a while. Cash is always king, its okay 8% inflation wins but do you want to lose 35% of cash on investing. Think carefully n play wisely, invest when there is blood on streets
Congrats on missing out on 25% returns last year
Thats the problem. I cashed out and holding cash, i suggest anyone do so and dont be on urge to buy anything you see at top
Buy rivn
Just do lump sum but place stop loss order as well to sell once it goes down. That’s what I did.
Ah yes, just like they say. Buy high, sell low
No google that means a stop loss.
