Labcorp apparently increased their security budget by 700%. They are recruiting left and right for security/GRC roles. Is it worth looking into? Or do you think they are too toxic due to their breach back in 2017?
I work in accounting at Labcorp and see the budgets for entire US, we are on encrypted lockdown basically since that breach so I don’t believe toxicity is the key word to use. I also don’t see any rise in expenses for security budget at all.
Not that I’m aware of. Due to the issue going on with congress right now with the Laboratory Access for Beneficiaries (LAB) Act, all budgets are being dramatically cut. Labcorp will absorb another $100+ million price cut from Medicare in 2020, we already got hit last year with $75 million price cut. So budgets are looking slim. Not saying that you couldn’t get your hand in the pot, just saying that 700% increase is not accurate and the most expenses that went towards security were to fix the issue and set it up encrypted going forward. So al computers are encrypted now and more security especially with emails and employee training, but the expense has not continued like it did when it happened. What are you looking to do and in what area of the US?

Interesting..So it seems steps are being taken. But no budget increase?
