Do you guys know of any other companies with insane 401k matching. I’m at John Deere and if you put in 6% they match 14%, which is like a 233% match. Any other companies that have similar matching, I know for sure faang doesn’t.
Yea while John Deere pays you peanuts for salary, stock, and bonus (if you even get the last two). I’d rather get more cash/stock up front and decide what I want to do with it
I think you are underrating the company. Obviously it’s not faang and they will never be or pay as much, but as a data scientist/engineer with 2yoe they will pay up to 150k a year base + 15% annual bonus(Atleast) + yearly merit increase, in a lcol area. Faang pays more, but as someone who likes job security, wants to stay in the Midwest, and is interested in agtech this is significant. At the very end, I could also just print money by taking out from my 401k and taking the penalty since the employer match is really good.
Again, if you wanna chase tc, faang wins everytime
401k is a scam lol. they lock your money there and penalize you to death if you need it early.
Dude, I feel like you have some issues with math. It doesn’t matter how much they put into your 401k if your salary sucks. You are not getting rich because of your 401k.
Where the issue with my math? And not every one wants to work at big tech with the fear of getting layed off, hcol, shitty culture, etc. retirement benefits are personally important, why are you so triggered?
My 401k will be $7M by 59. I'm pretty happy with that. Max it out starting as early as possible. Yes I'm modeling assuming 8% annual return and continued investing.
Linkedin matches 50% up to the limit The NFL matches 200% for players
Microsoft Google and Facebook
For once Microsoft falls into the prestige group in something somewhat TC related. But I didn't realize that only Google and Facebook offered similar benefits, at least in regards to the 401K match. I had assumed there would be more.
doubtful. are you sure they aren’t matching 14% of the 6% aka 0.84% match?
No, if I put in 6 % of my salary, they put in 14%.
outstanding
Mastercard is 10% of base up to the max 401k qualified salary
That’s really good.
Nvidia $9,000
Intuit does $1.25 for every $1 up to 6%
Google matches 50% up till the 401k limit. So that’s like an extra 10k per year.
So does Meta. And it matches immediately (many other companies will “true up” over the year), if you’re the type to max out immediately.
Microsoft is the same, matches 50% up to 401K limit, vests immediately.
