3 month gap vs 9 month gap?

I left Meta for a startup, worked there for 6 months then got laid off. Took me 3 months to find something else. Now my former boss wants to interview me for another position on another company. How should I frame my resume? This is a bit of a loaded question, because the first thing interviewers will ask is "what happened to the 6mo startup?".
