3 month gap vs 9 month gap?

I left Meta for a startup, worked there for 6 months then got laid off. Took me 3 months to find something else. Now my former boss wants to interview me for another position on another company. How should I frame my resume? This is a bit of a loaded question, because the first thing interviewers will ask is "what happened to the 6mo startup?". It's a time suck in the interview Option A: Meta [7 years] --> Startup [6 months] --> Gap [3mo] --> Current job [9 months - current] Option B: Meta [7 years] --> Gap [9 months] --> Current job [9 months - current] $310k

It’s your former boss; just tell them the truth

She knows everything . The thing is how I present myself to the rest of the interview panel.

You learned and grew in that 6 months, don’t leave it out. You had the courage to try something new!

Why don’t you do: - startup (2022-2023) - current job (2023-present)
