Odds of getting >$200k job right now by grinding Leetcode and studying system design?
Hey #facebook people, how about creating an inflight-gogo wireless friendly “mode”, that doesn’t spam your feed with videos? You know, for the people who can still read...
Can’t find that setting. iOS has one for not using cellular...nothing in the app either
Ok. I am on android. But found a couple of settings in app. Data saver and also you select "Never auto play videos" option as well.
I totally like this idea. Facebook becomes so annoying nowadays. Always playing video and audio by default.
The solution is simple. Just don't use Facebook. There are much more productive and entertaining ways to use your time.
On an airplane you have limited options: watch a movie/ the product of people with limited imaginations, who invariably inject their personal ideology into the product....no thanks. Not compelled by movies/or series/tv crap Read a book. Sometimes your brain needs a break. Travel enough and the book habit becomes expensive. Work. Not working on sensitive work when on gogo wireless or when the entire row behind me can read my shit. Sleep. I do this already. Late flights are not good to sleep on as you won’t be able to sleep when you get to your hotel. What did I miss? FB is not a bad option...
Are you really suggesting that your Facebook news feed is better imagined and less ideological than most films? I don't buy it.
I suppose I could write a manifesto like that google guy 🙄
Settings -> Account settings -> Videos and Photos -> Autoplay -> Never autoplay videos. Sorry about that data usage. This seems like a cool idea though - when you detect someone connecting to an in-flight wifi, roaming cellular data, etc. pop up an option to enable a data saver mode. If you do enable it, pop up an option to disable it once you're back on a regular network. Maybe something I'll try during a hackathon (although I'm android only). :)
please have someone from iOS light a 🔥 under this
Or maybe just a feed that is txt and photo only
If you enable data saving mode it doesn't auto load videos. But the most annoying things is that it's enabled by default.
