Senior Software Engineer (L4) Base: $180k Equity: $300k over 4 years Me: 9 yoe The recruiter told me that this is the top of the L4 band for equity. Is anyone aware of bands and whether there is room on the base? Also looking for feedback on the team. This is their Investor Services division. Is this a worthwhile offer?
Dont trust recruiters...
I got the same offer and accepted. Equity is conservative because it is on its way up!
Yep, that is top of L4. Stock value skyrocketed for the last three years. It should not be a concern.
Given current valuations, we can easily be a 30B in the next 2 years and a 70B companies if CartaX and our new products succeed.
Not gonna happen cause companies lately started changing contracts for employees where they can't transfer on secondaries so cartaX be limited.
@google CartaX is not a secondary. It only shows you don’t know a thing about it. It is even beneficial for company owners. Read about it.
Retail can be stupid not institutions
Equity should be 500K , 300K seems low . If not desperate counter and keep looking.
Carta does a “First and best offer” policy, where there is not counter offers/negotiations. Idt there is room for this, unless the policy is flexible - I was told it wasn’t when I was hired but idk
Equity is low on purpose because we are a high growth startup. If you just signed the same offer about a year back, your stock would be worth > 1M
