I see a lot of cleared jobs, like from AWS and Microsoft, that require TS/SCI also require an active polygraph. Is that generally a hard requirement or do companies accept plain TS/SCI with the expectation that the candidate does the poly later? For context, I was hoping to use the clearance to help job change into software engineering. #engineering #software #swe

Thank you
We don’t need people without poly’s. The biggest shortage is people with full scope. The easier poly isn’t as hard to fill roles for.
Ok, that's disappointing that the TS/SCI without a ploy (especially FS) provides such little benefit, but I'm glad to know. Thank you
Depends on a team in AWS you’re trying to apply and job requirements. It usually takes a long time to upgrade to FSP so teams tend to looking for people who already obtain FSP. Check job posting and ask recruiters for more details.

Depends on the job and requirements, if you have clearance then if something needs added they would work with your manager to get that done. Most with clearance also do fingerprints once a year so it’s never a major issue.
Sounds like this mostly applies when you already have a job with a company like Microsoft?
Typically, some employers will also consider already cleared persons.
