I'm interviewing with both for a non-tech position. I am aware about the recent layoffs at DataRobot but I really like the hiring manager and the interview went really well. The hiring manager at Bill.com is also very nice but the interview was not as smooth. Both decided to move me to the next hiring step. I know it is still early but if I get an offer from both, given the same salary, which one is better? Is DataRobot still worth it? How much is their RSU worth? What about Bill.com? Which one is better in terms of company future and career growth?#tech #techcareer #techindustry
Stay away from Datarobot. They have had 5 waves of layoffs in the past 2.5 years.
I thought about the layoffs too. I asked about this also during the interview and the hiring manager made a case that the position is somewhat operation critical and that the team is already very lean.
Interviewers are now trained in objection handling and the top objection is datarobot layoffs and reputation after the CEO took stole from the company
I heard valuation drop to 600M now
Ouch! That's a big drop!
So what’s the valuation now after all the shit show? We keep getting resume from datarobot ppl.
Turn this into a poll if you can, you’ll see Bill.com come out ahead. More stability and not as many people in their high horse as DataRobot. That company has been fizzling for the last 4 years. It’s like they came out of the gates blazing, then didn’t know how to keep up the momentum.
That's a good idea. Thank you. I was told that the new management @DataRobot gives hope about the future of the company.
They, uh, have to. Keep smiling
Believe what you want from outsiders. DataRobot’s new leadership is solid and setting a course for success. New CEO is the former GM of BigQuery, CRO just came from Automation Anywhere (CRO) and our new CPO ran all of Product for AI/ML at Microsoft under Satya. Lots of ex-Googlers are coming onboard and helping to get the ship back on track.
Thanks for chiming in! It's great to hear from an insider. From your comment, it seems that insiders are hopeful. That's what I perceived also from the interview. Can you also comment about the valuation or the preferred stock price, please?
Azure AI ML product is not generating lots of revenue for Azure. It’s just another channel to sell compute. I think it’s the wrong choice for a company need to get revenue
Thank you for that sophisticated analysis
Thanks for the feedback. The company has gotten a lot of negative publicities lately. I was told that the new management seems to be better than before.
