I’ve been thinking of moving back to Fl and i have heard great things about the company. Is anyone here from ultimate that can share his/her experiences? (pay related to cost of living, relocation, bonuses, etc) Also, shamelessly asking if anyone can refer me ha :) #ultimatesoftware #florida #fortlauderdale #fullstackdeveloper

People who like Modi, are you okay with your country’s leader using words like “infiltrators” for a community?
I'll answer your questions super quick and then you can read the below if you feel like it: pay relative to COL/location is as good as it gets and it will be very hard to find a company that pays more (off the top of my head MagicLeap is the only one I can think of in the area, maybe Salesforce as well but it's a very small office so not many positions open), no clue about relocation since everyone I work with is either remote or already was in FL, bonuses are team based and mostly RSU based (some get big 20k stock bonuses while other teams haven't seen a bonus in 5 years). On to the rest of the post. Give it a couple years if you can. The H&F acquisition is going really rough, half the C suites cashed out and retired, and we are attempting a 30% profit instead of 20% from here forward. I'm personally seeing a lot of anxiety and stress internally and a lot of people are planning exit strategies right now if they haven't already left. I'll add some positives at the end to hopefully offset my biases though. A lot of minor cost cutting is going on right now, a few examples: year end raises averaged significantly lower across the board according to our internal blind channel (2.5% vs normal 4%), free food trucks are about 5 times less frequent (used to be once a week and now are barely once a month), it looks like most backfill hires for people that left are being filled with cheaper people, hiring seems to have slowed significantly and the job postings are less oriented towards expensive titles like engineers and more oriented towards cheaper titles (coordinators, specialists, consultants etc). This last point seems to be changing slightly but it might just be because we are reaching the end of tax season and are prepping to do March hires. Most of this is likely temporary as everything adjusts moving forward. With everything that has been going on it's still an extremely old and slow moving company which is why I think it might take a few years to get back on track. If you come in at a pay level you're comfortable with for the extended future then go for it because it's absolutely the best company (sans MagicLeap) in South Florida. I've talked with a lot of people who have 4 years total experience, all here, that are making significantly less than people with 4 years experience at other companies that just joined a title level below them. This has been corroborated by multiple people I've talked to, 2 of which have 15+ years at Ultimate. Some of the teams tend to be trapped in older tech like .NET but most teams I have seen/worked with are using more fun things like Angular, Node, Vue, Mongo etc... so not everyone is stuck using aging tech. The pay is probably as good as it gets for the area and you'll be hard pressed to find someone willing to even just match the package until you start to slip below the local averages (trust me I've tried), completely free health/vision/dental/life(payout up to salary) insurance. (Most) managers are super flexible with WFH, there are some managers that don't like WFH and refuse to allow it even if they themselves abuse it but those are few and far between. Internal transfers are super easy but require a year of being on each team to prevent abuse. 'Layoff' seems to be a word that is not understood and not recognized, you really have to screw up or be hated by upper management to actually get let go/fired regardless of performance which can also be a negative if you're left to pick up the slack left over by underperforming employees. This may change in the future but it's unlikely. This is absolutely 100% unequivocally a cruising company compared to all other high ticket FAANG style companies so if you're at that point in your career where you just need to sit back and take care of kids or just don't want to be a part of the intense grind at faster moving companies then this might be one of the best companies for you. If you're not in cruise mode there are a lot better choices to go for. All in all, if you're just starting out and haven't reached a senior level yet you should probably look elsewhere. If you're sitting pretty with your current pay, are doing more senior level activities, this might be a good choice.
As an update. We are now in the middle of a merger with Kronos. I would recommend sitting on the sidelines until the merger is over, it's getting rockier by the day.
Hi there. I heard that more changes are taking place after the merge of Utimate and Kronos. Good leaders are stepping down or leaving. Entire teams dismantled. Please anyone who can share insights is highly appreciated as I am looking forward to apply to this company after all this covid situation ends. Thank you
