Going to be a crap day in Pasadena tomorrow. Nearly 600 employees are getting let go tomorrow.
If it can hit JPL I feel like the economy is in bad shape.
Yepp we're in for a ride. After my contract with current company ends, might pursue higher education to ride out the bad market.
They gonna layoff those on the moon?
It would be great if nasa dialed back the Artemis program.
Are these federal contractors or FTEs at JPL?
8% FTE. 40 contractors per news reported
Omg 😱
Got to goose that NASA stock, wait ...
I’d be super stressed too if they haven’t figured out how to land on the moon again after so many years and so much advancement in technology. Something doesn’t add up here.
It's a long lost art
Well there have been theories that the US never landed on the moon back in 1969 and it was just a lot of special effects. I half believe it, cant fathom how we were able to land 55 years ago with less computational power than today’s iphone yet cant even do a successful lift for a while and even now still a decade away from flying humans there again
Why are they laying off? I thought the government had unlimited money
We need to send $ to Ukraine and also the people crossing our southern borders. Priorities man.
Totally sucks, a lot of great people let go. Never base your identify or self worth on a job or employer
Yeah this has been heartbreaking
JPL = just performed layoffs
But the job numbers are still good right? Record unemployment 😂 I don’t think I’ve rolled my eyes in disbelief at the BS from any administration as much as this one! And I’m a liberal so they sure as fuck aren’t fooling anybody else in this country!
