Will APPLE enter the GPU game?

They might already have plans to run smaller models on their consumer processors. What if they enter the data center/enterprise market, however unlikely? Remember they have a solid relationships with TSMC

Apple has an integrated GPU team since ages. Can they catch up with Nvidia/AMD in dedicated GPU is an almost no. Apple has tried in the past but failed. But they also beat Intel in CPU so let's see But beating Intel vs being Nvidia is not even the same league

They should have bought AMD five years back when it was worth nothing.

FTC would’ve blocked it anyway.

Idk. Check their endpoint data maybe you find something in there

Apple already makes GPUs and has neural engines dedicated to AI. They aren’t going to enter the data center market. Their focus is on edge computing.

There’s untapped money in edge computing AI processing and consumption needs.

Apple has been and will continue to be a consumer product company, and has that mindset. Even the autonomous car they just scrapped was targeting individual consumers, but data centers and GPUs do not fall into that category, except GPUs that would go into the Apple’s consumer products.

Apple would need to get ECC working and many other issues to play in that market, and for what gain? Nvidia’s entire advantage is the software stack and finally MSFT is starting to take a crack at that. Once the SW advantages go Nvidia will be in trouble and the market will go the way of CPUs (where, outside of servers hosting GPUs, all of the margin is, and where companies like Amazon and now Microsoft are trying to move the CPU dev in house). Not a good idea.

Apple is in the gpu market for last 20 years.
