Hey guys, I had my second phone interview yesterday. Got two LC medium questions. The first was solved but I corrected mistakes while I was doing a dry run test. The interviewer was extremely chatty. He wanted me to write down my thought process on the coder pad as well. Completed the first in 20 min. Then he gave me the second question. I shared my solution and it was an optimal solution. He wanted to understand my solution step by step and asked me to first write a pseudo code. He discussed the complexity with me and we concluded that I could write working code now. I had 10 min left, I had to implement two functions. I wrote the first main function. I couldn't complete the second function, stumbled because of nervousness. What do you guys think ? Should I lose hope? I am completely burned out from preparing for two phone rounds. How are fb phone interviews judged? #facebook #facebookphoneinterview #swe
Sounds like you did well. Can’t always finish implementing the entire solution with multiple problems. A lot of interviewers care more about your thought process as well
I am not in US. India

Looks like a pass for me. Get more experience and try it again?
I will always go wrong in some way. This is second time trying. It's really hectic preparing for these FAANG interviews. No matter how much you prepare, you can screw in a lot of ways with small mistakes during a stressful time bound 20 min per question round. Unless you mug up leetcode 600~ fb questions
It's not about how many leetcode problem you solve. You just try to memorize the problem. That's why you can go easily wrong. And even if you pass the coding, there's system design and behavioral.
Hey OP, were all the questions asked directly from leetcode ?
Yup
What were the problems?
Are you in an e5 loop or e6?
e5
Why 2 phone rounds? And sounds positive. Please update later
The first phone round feedback was mixed, I solved both questions, but the feedback was I didn't get into testing once I wrote the code. I had to be asked to test it. And I didn't have time to test the second question, cause I came up with the semi-optimal solution in the last 5 min, and I could only finish coding in the last min. So they wanted to give me a second phone round. The feedback was I have to manage my own time. I have to do two questions in 40 min period ! along with testing it and writing the optimal solution. I prepared a lot on different DS and algos from leetcode so that I do not waste time coming up with a solution during the stressful 20min given per question. I get extremely anxious in interviews
