I got an offer from JPmorgan chase. No offer details yet, but what can i expect for 602/603 position? Can i expect around 20%-25% increase from my current pay? Can i negotiate higher? I think its not worth to make a move unless i get a 25% increase. What you guys think? Should i make a move for less than 160k base if offered? Current TC:145k YOE: 8
LoB will determine everything
I think its ccb..
Another person from Discover coming to the dark side! I know two people who came over-- really great people. If it's CCB, expect meh level comp, but 603 is what you should push to come in at with 8 YoE. The bands can vary widely. But coming in with around the same exp. albeit 4 years ago, my comp was around 130k and 30k bonus. So I'd push for at least 170k.
Its cib…i think they are targeting a 602 not sure though..
I don't think you'll get much above current at 602. Note that the RTO is a hard requirement of 3 days a week. So if you live up by Discover and are thinking you'll be on Metra a day or two a week, know that it's 3 days with zero flexibility. If you live in the city and reverse commute out to Discover, this may be a plus ;)
Its CIB not CCB..my bad..
What’s CIB and CCB divisions
Corporate & Investment Bank (markets, rates, fx, treasuries, etc) Consumer & Community Bank (retail branches, mortgate, auto, credit cards, etc) the other 2 are AWM - Asset & Wealth Management (NW $10M+) CB - Commercial Bank (mid to large businesses, government, etc) and various corporate groups like cybersecurity, infra, corp tech, RE, risk, etc
Thanks very helpful , just out of curiosity do you know which are the most revenue making business and the lobs in order of importance
"order of importance" is very loaded. However I'd say it's CIB>CCB>>>CB>AWM
Thanks is it based on revenue each lob generates or the funding that the company seems to be making in each of the areas ? Or any other criterias
Revenue
How’s merchant payment services org ??
That's not really a separate org. It's typically in CIB or the WePay org
Are in-house teams good at jpmc?
In-house teams?
So like staff teams, i.e. team's clients are other teams within jpmc
Well for starters never discuss your current pay ever. So the jump is what knowledge/skills you gained + if your current company brought you in low. Current pay vs new job is a terrible metric. Example: Current company mid grade should have been upple mid grade -10K salary -learns Tableau passes all 3 certs 3 years exp -3 years 2% raise only nothing else -58K current 62K.. Tableaus single value alone is worth 10-15% increase 3yrs exp. Point being ... if you told someone your current pay which you have basically been screwed over on would diminish your value. On top of which say a different company gave 5% raises to someone else..you cans see why your entry pay level matters and increases. Either A) negotiate high incoming pay or B) make sure that company has a structure to move quickly through ranks like JPM/Chase/FAANG etc. Adobe.. any decent company. \
What's the interview process at JPMC like?
What’s your base now? And what location?
Base 135, chicago
Shoot for $150k base at the minimum. I am not sure about bonus as that can range widely depending on role.
