I am currently a green card holder. I was looking for something different and considering the defense industry. I don't mind going to the office, but a company with some allowance to work from home would be great. I know Raytheon does some. I am currently a Principal engineer. Given my immigration status, do I have a chance? TC: 540k YOE: 10
Have you seen any salary information for these roles? I haven't seen a software engineer role for more than $200k for defense contractors.
brother do not do it, sucks so bad
Can you elaborate, please? Don't you work on cool stuff?
I’ve thankfully moved on to another company from NG. I was there for 4 years and it sucks so bad. Terrible pay. Everything I worked on was boring. Things move incredibly slow, so much red tape, people incredibly resistant to change. In my experience, a generally unpleasant work culture. I would say the only upside is that is job security. I’ve heard people who contract with 3 letter agencies with TS security clearance can make a lot of money, but TS level clearances are very hard to get. If you are a green card holder, you cannot get a security clearance.
Why don’t you apply for citizenship?
I can but don't see much benefit
How long have you been on GC?
