Anyone work for rackspace? Any idea on developer salary's? Looks like they might be private now? So do they have any kind of profit sharing or decent bonuses? EDIT - almost forgot to ask. How do you like working for them?
If you're going to be working on Managed Public Cloud, you're going to have a great time. I think experience varies per division. Profit sharing is limited to the senior guys but the salaries are good. Not sure what they pay developers.
TX, Level III S. Dev, 125k TC. 3 yrs exp. Great company, great culture, left to increase pay and expand my knowledge. Shaky future as Amazon, Google, MS have dominated and continue to erode existing customer base. Culture has taken a huge hit with transition to private, but you’ll find it’s still a great company if you have no prior expectations of the previous culture.
Not sure where you are located, but if relocating... Austin has a better tech scene, pull for the Austin office vs San Antonio. Culture took a hit while the company has been pivoting. Dev salaries are on the lower end, but still competitive. Great benefits. I left at 130k TC. It was a great company to work for, large distributed organizations, with lots of mobility if you know how to move around.

Rackspace is a great company. I have friends who work there and they are very happy. The pay is mediocre from what I hear, but it is what it is.
