Big tech companies where senior engineers can coast?

For people that have no aspirations to climb past senior IC level, and just want a place with good WLB and job security to stay at long-term, are there any companies that fit this mold? I've heard Microsoft, LinkedIn, and Google are like this, is that true and are there any similar companies?

Team dependent. I'm sure it's the same everywhere.

Epic Systems corporation. Enjoy Wisconsin, shit code, and ghetto SVN.

Can confirm the engineers at Epic don’t do jack shit. Epic hires 30 support staff for every one engineer to carry the company and its shitty code base.

Not all orgs in MSFT. There is a reason why MSFT stock is growing. Many orgs are burning midnight oil. Guess who does most of the work? Surprise surprise! SWE2 and Seniors. Both these levels underpay a lot compared to the market and the amount of work which motivates people to grow up or GTFO.

Big agree with this. My experience in Azure has been very reminiscent of Amazon. Charlie Bell definitely bringing some of that over.
