I've received a job offer for the position of VP Developer at JPMorgan Chase in Plano, TX, with a hybrid work model. Is there any room for negotiation in the package? The recruiter also mentioned that if I accept the offer before August, I will be entitled to a full bonus in January. Otherwise, I will only receive a certain portion. Can anyone confirm how much truth there is in this statement? I still have onsite interviews lined up with bill.com and Nvidia. The motivation for considering this move is the consistent layoffs at my current company, and I'm looking for greater job security. Years of Experience: 10 Offer Details: TC: $235K Base Salary: $175K Bonus: $60K Current Total Compensation (TC): $285K, with remote working options. Please share your thoughts on this offer from JPMorgan Chase.
Not a comment on the TC, but why does everything at Chase have VP in the title?
It just means senior in a bank. It's some kind of dumb old regulatory thing where law said "must be at least a VP to do X" (I think signing loan papers and the like), so banks made anyone senior-ish a VP. Analyst->Associate->VP->ED->MD
Everything is NOT VP! Thatâs just what you notice
Wtf didn't know you can get 280k in Plano jpmc most ppl I know get around 150tc. What role/title/level tech?
I would stay where you are. That TC will be 90-95th percentile in Plano. If you aren't a top performer, your bonus will crash next year or they'll just get rid of you. JP has small layoffs constantly. I never bothered with a PIP for a low performer, I'd just let my MD know someone wasn't working out and they'd be gone in the next layoff.
Lol, nope, was just a lowly VP. My point is that JP shouldn't be seen as super stable. If you're good, sure, you'll be fine. If you aren't, they will toss you out without a care and *way* faster than most tech companies.
They can toss you out for budget reasons alone, even with good performance. Remember that thing that says "at will" in the contract speaks volumes for job security
Which LOB is this? There is room for negotiation depending on what level. Are you being hired as senior lead? Or lead software engineer?
How long after the interview did it take to get the offer?
Did you get offers from Bill and Nvidia? Are they remote or based in Plano too?
Do you know which LOB you get this offer?

People who like Modi, are you okay with your countryâs leader using words like âinfiltratorsâ for a community?
Donât think Bonus is always included. Are there any RSUs, 401k match? Offer is nothing exciting especially if youâre currently employed.
No RSU joining grant like a tech company. Bonus over $50K will be partially in RSU, starting at 10% and going up with bonus amount. 50/50 vest in 2 and 3 years after grant. (Ie it sucks) No 401k match for first year and there's some dumb vesting of the match too. 1/1 match to 5% IIRC
