My friend got verbal offer from AMD for Senior Design Verification. BASE: 160k RSU:150k/4 Sign on: 20k He has 5 years of experience at intel in DV. Current TC: 160k Grade: 6 Is this offer fare? Or should he fight for MTS?

Lol expecting mts at 5yoe? This is a good offer unless you have other competing offers. That intel tc is going down everyday with stock loss.
Why not? In terms of salary, MTS in AMD is more like Senior level in good companies, and also MTS is given to mediocre recent PhD grads with 1 year of internship experience or less. 5 y.o.e. absolutely deserves AMD MTS, especially if those 5 years were of meaningful work and not button smashing.
I know people who got to MTS in 3 years flat, so I’d say this is pretty bad.
