udacity

remember 8-9 years ago when Udacity actually was a good site where each course was quality (such as CS101 and design of computer programs)? (same goes with coursera and to a lesser degree edx). Now the site preys on inexperienced people who want a job in a similar way that the Techlead and Joma do. that being said i did recieve an ad that said they were letting people use their courses for a month for free so if there is anything in the load of crap that the site now offers that interests you, the next month is the time to squeeze them dry! Edit: a couple of people in the comments have mentioned that the free month is yet another scam.

Agreed. Their Android basic/advanced programs were very good. After Self Driving car courses though, the quality went to shit.

That whole month free is a sham! Read the T&C properly before signing up. They say that we give you one month free on the three months plan or you can pay upfront and we'll discount one month..plus their terms and conditions don't mention how you can cancel. I looked it up but it seemed like cancellation after giving them the credit card could be a pain!

Ok good to know. I hadn’t signed up yet. Sorry for the fake news guys. But this again shows how far udacity has fallen and how crappy it has become.

Sadly I fell for this. They do offer 1 months free but the courses were mediocre at best. When you go to “cancel” there is no option for it, the only option is to speak with a customer service rep. The CSR then spends 10 minutes giving you discount after discount until they get to about 75-80% off. If you continue to reject after that they will finally cancel your order.

I've tried the free month to look at content and just cancelled. Cancellation was pain and took about 30 mins of chat. Although when you want to cancel they were offering 75% discount (first they 50% then they say 75%) of original price.
