Saw a Linkedin post from a former colleague today regarding layoffs. Texted a friend and it looks like Calendly laid off the entire enterprise sales team and all of expansion. A year ago their Enterprise team was averaging a close ratio of 12%. Looks like it never improved. #layoff
Don't they make a glorified calendar widget? Why did they have sixty people to begin with?
TIL that it took more than 60 people to make fucking Calendly
Ya right. engineers who make calendly can wear multiple hats like marketing, PM, PMM, solutions, customer support, etc
They way he phrases the layoffs makes me mad lol. “Are moving on”
He’s so messed up. He should just delete the post.
They have R&D? What do they R on?
Calendly is the definition of a vitamin and not a pain killer Google cal, outlook… should be able to eat calendly’s lunch
It was only until recently I realised google calendar vastly improved their appointment tool (it’s basically killed Calendly and other scheduling software)
Google brought Calendly’s booking ability as a feature in Google calendar. That’s what big tech do. They reduce an entire company to a feature in their product. Another example is Pay Later from Apple. Completely decimated Klarna and AfterPay.
They are laying off people almost daily
Workers at calendly don't even use calendly
well yeah, you gotta understand that whatever happened last year will be repeated, so keep watching for November
Because Google calendar rolled out the only feature calendly had to offer?
Yet here we are…still thriving. Almost like Google makes and kills products just as fast, and consumers see it. So we lost freebee users? 😁
