PhD in Computer Sciences from a top 10 school for CS 10 papers (7 top tier conferences, 2 ok and 1 less known journal) 150 citations 11 peer reviews [2 journals 9 conferences] (mostly for 2 top databases conference in the world) 1 ACM highlight, 1 Research highlight award Commercialization of PhD work to a startup leading to acquisition Several (10+ or more) media articles about the acquisition and startup technology - mentioning my thesis work 1-2 media article talking about my work apart from academia and acquisition 9 years of professional work experience (excluding PhD and 2 years of CPT/OPT work) Principal Engineer, TC # 250K Indian Note: Can get recommendation letters (5-6) from top database researchers in the world globally situated who can assert my work and contribution to the field. --------- Lawyers saying great profile but might get RFEs due to low citation count and USCIS relates your PhD work through citation and might need strong evidence. Peers (including leads, managers) kinda hinting that the case is strong and you should push the lawyers. I need some suggestions. Should I push the lawyers a bit? Any suggestions? #workvisa #h1b #eb1b #visa #greencard #eb1 #phd
Can you get an O1 visa instead?
Already have an H1B
Go ahead. Your profile is strong. However, it all depends on how you present to USCIS.
Why is TC so low with this kind proile? I'm lowly MS with 8YOE and in EB2 limbo but have 500k TC. Maybe you should LC and switch than waste time with this GC stuff.
EB1A here. EB1B is primarily about your company lawyers agreeing to file; whether you have 5 citations or 500, doesn’t matter. Once they file, you’ll go through.
Got my EB1B when my citation was barely 20. 😰
What year was this?
Seriously?
Go for EB1A. People have been able to make cases with way weaker profiles! Pick a good lawyer - Self petition. You should be okay!
Nearly 100% chances.
I have a fairly similar profile, minus the media articles, would be hearing from my lawyers as well on whether they would do my case
Did you hear from the lawyers? What did they say?
I have a very similar case. Lawyers told me to wait for a year. You want to submit when you have the highest chance of acceptance. If you are in a position to wait, let citations cross 200. It will be extremely hard to reapply if you get rejected.
Go for it. This is an easy case.
