Thank you AAPL and NVDA
With Elon Musk buying out Twitter - how are you feeling? What are your thoughts?
I for one love misinformation.
Especially the misinformed people.
Watch Russia go bonkers.
Getting bought by PE is awesome!
PE?
private equity
Pretty stressed tbh. I feel like going from public -> private is opposite of what you want from a comp perspective. If comp is negatively effected then we’ll lose a lot of great talent and any incentive for working at Twitter will be gone. Also having a billionaire running a private social media company with the amount of influence Twitter has is a terrible idea whether or not you agree with their ideology
Did employees complain a lot when it was Dorsey? It does seem like it depends on the billionaire ideology
Dorsey wasn’t really doing anything except being weird.
Does going from public to private mean all your shares become cash and you get f'd in the a on income tax day?
You get fucked anyway?
If it's an all stock deal, then there's no taxable event. Any mix of stock and cash will incur taxes on the lesser of 1) the cash portion 2) cash + FMV of stock less the cost basis.
Pretty much on a road where Twitter becomes less effective/popular/relevant because of too much power in one persons hand. Time for a new Twitter.
Can someone explain what will happen to future comp. Say someone joins twitter 1 year from now after the sale has gone thru. Will the employee get RSU / Options or will it just be straight cash? Is twitter TC going to crash?
What I’ve seen in other companies happen is going to cash/bonus … and having usually a bit above market pay. You can feel free to get cash and then invest yourself immediately. Also given stock market behavior in the past year /next few most likely , pay with RSUs usually ends up being less as stock value is down. So cash is not too bad right now and in foreseeable future. I can also see some crypto bonuses at Twitter. :)
Missed out on a buying opportunity
What happens to RSU?
Usually, they get executed. Thank Daddy Elon! you just got PAID!
