What can you tell about the manager, who, when I suggest WebEx's audio sometimes is cutting out, and can we use Slack, he asked the other coworker how the audio was. The coworker did tell me before, yes, Slack's audio is quite more clearer than WebEx's. But the coworker seemed to kiss up to the manager, and said, "No, the audio is all fine." And the manager just ignored my suggestion and went on talking something else, and kept on using WebEx in future video conferences. They were both native speaker of English, and I am not. One of the reasons could be: our job required us to constantly upstream video hardware data to the cloud, and since our home Internet may only have 150KB/s or 200KB/s uplink, it may be hindering the video and audio. WebEx might be lowering the bitrate as much as possible seeing the data cannot go out that fast. I don't know how many of such hardware he was running, but if it is 1 or 2, it already can be use 1/2 or 2/3 of the uplink, and the remaining uplink can be only 50KB/s or 70KB/s for WebEx to use, for both video and audio. What can you tell about the manager, when I suggest if we can use Slack, and he asked the coworker and ignored it and just go on, as if I was lying and it is not an issue. My idea is, when a person doesn't give respect to another person, why would the other person give any respect to him? #manager

true... just ignore him
Webex is trash. But, 200k? That's really slow.
isn't it so... a lot of ISP give you 12Mbps or 18Mbps down, but up is only like 1.5Mbps or 2Mbps
even Comcast 25/3 (375KB/s up) is more like 4Mbit/500KB/s up.

well... webex is a cisco product no? I imagine asking your team to switch to a competing app is a bit awkward lmao. Anyway your mgr probably took it as a casual suggestion. If the audio is impacting your ability to get work done you need to talk to your mgr 1:1
we use both WebEx and Slack, so if we just causally use Slack, it is not like a big issue. Those meetings are just between the 3 of us. I said it is a problem. The manager asked the other person if it is a problem and then ignored me, is quite disrespectful. Talk to the manager 1:1, he appeared like a Godfather. He literally is stroking his cat talking to us.
I think you're reading wayyy too much into a minor conversation. idk what like a godfather is supposed to mean but yeah you need to talk to your manager 1:1 if webex is unusable for you so that he knows it's a serious issue. If he still refuses to help after that then he's a dick but it sounds like he just assumed it was just a weird audio glitch on your end which is reasonable.
