A startup CEO wrote I'd be perfect for a job & wanted to discuss it, 3 wks later he never called. WTF?

Maybe he found someone more perfect

If a CEO says something you should be able to rely on it. His word should not be worthless.

Bloomberg chanchan95 Mar 12, 2019

Yes but it’s a startup CEO. His word’s worth is relative to his company’s.

He/she found someone better. Nothing unusual here. You think he/she only reached out to 1 person lol?

The point is that if you're the CEO your word should not be worthless.

What makes you think that? Most non-technical CEOs are total bullshiters.

Google crazier Mar 12, 2019

CEOs contact so many people as potential matches. Maybe they found some1 already before your call. Maybe their company had some major shift, maybe he was just too busy. But i do agree with you that if there was a scheduled call, the CEO should hv canceled it and let you know

He probably sent that same email to 50 more people

Microsoft summ Mar 12, 2019

Yeah, I keep getting those "personalized mails" all the time.

Google crazier Mar 12, 2019

Op should clarify, if they both agreed, and scheduled a call for 3 weeks later

Jobs are like relationships, if the person isn't interested anymore they aren't interested. Don't take it personally. If you aren't Chad you might have to go through a bunch of rejections.

Bloomberg iVX372 Mar 12, 2019

Startups are worthless anyway. Don't waste your time
