There’s going to be an emergency shut down
Any folks who know much about quantum computing, can you make a prediction whats going to happen with quantum computing?? Is it like in early stages of AI, where ppl didnt see it becoming big but suddenly caught fire?? When it catches more wide attention, will it become bigger hype than AI or AI will become even bigger with help of Quantum Computing?? And any companies do you recommend following that is like early days Nvidia of quantum computing?
How far away is this from becoming a reality? And won’t it crater companies like Nvidia since it’s a cold-fusion like change for computing power?
Not really. A QPU would’nt replace your CPU or GPU. More like, you’d have a third processing unit that is now standard in your rig (if they ever get small enough for a consumer). QPUs have niche uses where they are very powerful.
You trying to get rich? IBM is one of the big players making quantum computers. So are Google, Intel, and Microsoft. Will they shoot up the way Nvidia has?
Useful Quantum computers are very far away. I worked for QC startup. It’s a long ways away
AGI can only be achieved with quantum computing GPT is not AGI, OpenAI should stop wasting energy to generate worthless chats or create virtual girlfriends for dudes living in their mothers basements
There's zero reason to think AGI has anything to do with quantum computing. In fact, quantum computing barely improves anything at all. It can only solve very niche algorithm problems, and none of those are broadly useful once cryptography moves away from dependency on factorialization for strength. I kind of get the feeling you don't actually know what quantum computing is...
Quantum computing has been 10 years away for the past 20 years.
Yes. It’ll be what actualized a lot of the current promises of AI
