So had a couple questions for you return to office folks: 1. Does management/Elon really check your hours in office? Or just that you come into the office? 2. Have there been any repercussions for people doing less than 40 hours a week? 3. And what about time off when you can’t do 40 hours a week or if you go on a out of town and want to work remotely then? Does that matter? Please would love to know how it all works and would like SOME kind of answers in this super uncertain time. #on-site #returntooffice #elon #tesla #spacex
TLDR; any corner cases have been fine, just enough to come in the office the majority of the time when you are able. Badge scans are the main and automated way it's checked based on what I've heard and seen. Less around hours and more around days clocked in. Time off is fine... The times you'll trigger their sheet is if you are taking over two weeks off at a time, since that would mean you clocked in less than 50% for the month.
This has already been asked... [Blind] Check out this post! How is RTO/40H in Tesla/SpaceX? (Return to Office) https://us.teamblind.com/s/rZpGxaXw
Well, a good portion of us never worked from home in the first place - all by our own choice. Being in the office is powerful when you have a mission to get through. Progress is faster and easier. HR checks badge scans, but no one is out to count hours; and I haven’t heard HR do anything with that info - but I think it’s a risk call since it is company policy. Just get your work done. That’s more important than clocking hours.
"mission" lol
But otherwise appreciate the context, I was wondering the same as OP
It's been OK here but mainly because it's no longer under Elon's attention. Nobody else gives a shit about remote vs in office. I'm not sure if it will be possible to fly below radar at Twitter for awhile.
1. You will get noticed for working less and your review cycle will reflect it. 2. Likely won't get promoted or refreshers but very few get fired if they are at least doing 40hr. 3. You can take time off and depending on your role working temporarily remote is ok (home around holiday, supplier visits, kid is sick, etc..)
