Meta layoff amounts to 25%(21k out of 88k), Round 1 layoffs in Amazon, Microsoft, Google are ~5%. 2023 will be a blood bath for tech sector. It will be worse than most people can even imagine. TC: 310 till employed
Amazon, Microsoft, Google did not invest their money in building something stupid like Metaverse!
Meta layoffs are not about Metaverse alone. As every other company - over hiring, bloated teams and tech slowdown after pandemic. With your reasoning A,M,G shouldn’t even had round 1.
Everything Google builds that’s not an ad product is approximately as stupid as the metaverse, financially. But ads are just that good. 💰💰💰
Metas revenue as a company is equivalent to just AWS. I don’t think it’s the same.
Would you just look at revenue? Net income of Meta is higher than Amazon since long.
My point is Meta as a whole is very similar to AWS both in revenue and profit. But that’s just one piece of Amazon.
If the stock keeps rocketing an AMG is exactly what I’ll get
It may be to your surprise, but tech CEOs are not copycats to Meta ! Meta burned billions in Metaverse. Other companies didn’t make the same mistake.
Really? Ask Alexa.
Alexa is at least a product that ppl have used and loved. Still working in alexa. With more trims planned in alexa and shutting down a few products for now, alexa can become profitable. I am yet to see how MV even looks.
Stop being a fear monger.
Okay, and you are using Blind for what? Enjoy your life peacefully.
Don’t be a coward and stop spreading the fear around . If not this job an other job . Stop panicking my friend and look at the positive things .
Cope
OP is really trying to cope.
No PIP for meta?
Mercedes Benz will do just fine.
Your reasoning is garbage. Meta execs made bad decisions and unfortunately the least powerful employees are paying the price. Other companies are immediately affected by the macro economic situation, you can’t put them in the same bucket. Stop the fear mongering, go save your job so you’re not fired next.
What's AMG?
Advanced Mark(Zuck) Gang.
Amazon/Meta/Google?
