ASML base in Silicon Valley
Anyone have thoughts on expected salary for Manager position at ASML in Silicon Valleys area? Or rather what salary would be needed to live there? Any other info would be helpful as well.
I wouldn't join them unless there's desperation. The company doesn't offer meaningful TC growth or career progression unless you are Dutch or come from a similar semi company. Choose wisely if you have a choice.
Well, I’ve worked in ASML in the Netherlands and another branch in Asia. I also had some chance to work in the SV area. What I can say is to choose carefully. Semiconductor in the US, in my personal opinion does not pay well compared to other booming industries. Also the management in SV is predominantly Chinese/Taiwanese so it’s not even going to feel like a Dutch company. TC isn’t that great either. Proceed with caution.
If you have a family and want to live in the Bay Area, believe me, even 300k will be peanuts.
years ago, I got an IC offer for 125k TC in LCOL area from them. I wouldn't join for less than 250k if I were you. I was in a no name company back then. Now that i'm in FB i wouldn't join them unless they beat my 500k TC so probably never.
Even if they do, how does that benefit you ?
