AWS L6 SA with 5 YOE
Hi blind, Does it make sense to apply to an AWS L6 role at Amazon with 5 YOE? The job posting says 5+ YOE, so I guess I would be at the edge? They currently only hace one L5 role. Current TC: 120k YOE: 5
I saw that the role at Dropbox got filled a few days after I applied, but still they could just say hey, we donāt have a spot at this time or something!
There are hundreds of open L6 SA roles. Go apply for another one if that one got filled.

SA here. I say go for it. If you don't meet the bar for L6 but meet the bar for L5, they'll recycle and downlevel you appropriately.

How much travel does the rol require? I guess itās completely dependent on teams, but would love to hear from you guys

The status on amazon jobs changed to āno longer consideredā on all 3 without even getting an email or a call back :( Is that normal? It was for 3 different teams with 3 different managers

If you can pass their interview then why not try? Experience doesnāt always mean skill. Iāve seen people with 5 YOE smarter than folks with 15. Just depends on you to study and ace an interview.
Thanks bud! Thatās how I see it too. By the way I got a referral for Dropbox and got completely ghosted. Not even a single call back. I even reached out to multiple recruiters on LinkedIn but they donāt respond to my messages
