AWS OR Self Driving Car？
At this time point, 2020 Jul, which career choice you guys think it is better for future growth? Join a AWS service team VS. Join a startup company working self driving car (not waymo) ?

No one knows what is the future for self driving car
If you’re talking about zoox, then yes join them. Most of the things amazon touches turns into gold. Zoox is just getting started. If not, just go for AWS.
Amzn is good at scaling things up, but not hard core computation stuff, take mnxet for example

Self driving as a goal is sexy but a lot of work there seems pretty boring. If you work in mapping or building tools or random piece of infra like simulation software for the AI or car dispatches, would you still find it exciting?
Tell us the name of the other company. Matters who you are joining in the AV industry. Also may be tell us the offers ?
During these times its better to make a safe choice. AWS. Not that amazon has a secure job but chances that AWS can tolerate losses is far more than startups. AWS is profitable still!

Whats wrong with the que ?
AWS is already a market leader you don't know if the self driving car startup will be able to put a dent against the likes of Waymo/ Tesla or the numerous self driving start ups. It's getting pretty crowded already and even Amazon is jumping into the race. It will be a good skill to learn and use though regardless of the direction of your day job.
