Hey guys, Passed my 1st technical phone screen with Amazon recently. Second one is coming up shortly. Has anyone gone through similar process? What are your stories/tips? For me it was a great discussion. The interviewer was a senior security engineer. He was nice and made the whole hour really enjoyable. Questions wise, they were medium'ish difficulty, mostly fundamental network protocols and security concepts. I did feel that they really wanted to gauge how deep one could go by asking lots of follow ups. I was kinda surprised when there was no coding question i. Not sure if there will be one for the next.
How about you?

How was it?
Hey Guys, I have scheduled my first round with them for Security Engineer role. Can you guys share few topics or questions what they will be expecting for us to know in the interview. It would be really helpful.
By first round did you mean phone screen? What level and what team?
Hi, I have a phone interview tomorrow for Security Engineer position and it’s for 45 min according to the time given. I don’t know for some reason they gave me a live code link as well. Will there be a coding round for security engineer position L4?
No coding for security engineer position. Did you apply to be a SDE - Security by any chance?
No I have applied for Security Engineer position
Hi Guys looking for Amazon Security Engineering roles. Would someone please help me out to land an interview!
Funny how everybody asks about the questions and the next person who ask them, they also ignore and just disappear.
I’m wondering why LC isn’t asked in SecEng. SecEng does need to understand how coding works and should know how to patch vulnerabilities. Sadly many ppl out there don’t even have programming knowledge. All they tell you are already documented in a compliance document lol
Went from phone screen to on-site directly, was enjoyable, no coding questions but some source code auditing. I found the questions to be very on-point and related to the job (or so I would assume, haven’t joined yet), no brain teasers, algorithms or such which I would say provide limited value in judging whether I would be a good security engineer.
Glad to hear! Did you make the cut?
Yes, will be joining in August.
