AWS Sr PMT-ES (L6) to Splunk Principal PM (P5)
Hello good folks of blind, I have been at AWS for 2+ years and have been promised a path to L7 next year, just received an offer from Splunk for around $450kTC (P5 PM). My current TC ($350k) next year will probably be near $400k if Amazon stock goes up to $4k. Help me choose. My team at AWS is good, good manager/skip but the workload is crazy just like everywhere else in Amazon.
Time value of money my friend, take more money now rather than the promise of it down the road. Just my 2 cents.
No matter how much they say you are not guaranteed a promotion at Amazon so take more money now and get out
Go for splunk p6. Sde3 has more responsibility than principal at splunk
The loop was for P5 I am not sure how to ask to be upleveled, also this role is Product manager not engineering.
I really hope people who voted AWS can also explain why?

Amazon seems way worse than Splunk is 😛 besides our leadership team is now filled with AWS leaders so might as well jump ship too

Have you noticed that Splunk has lost over $2 billion over the last 7 consecutive quarters?
