I have an on site interview for the TAM role this Thursday. What can I expect? Technical deep dive interviews or the “tell me about a time” questions . Also what is the acceptance rate after onsite interviews at Amazon in general? Thanks in advance.
Is it for Amazon or AWS
It’s for AWS
AWS goes a bit more technical than Amazon. Lots of Architectural and infrastructure questions.
+1 on metrics. Be prepared to provide detailed information to back up your answers. Study up on the leadership principles and have 1-2 examples for each principle. Focus on the interview and not the acceptance rate. That was some of the best I received going into my interviews. Depending whether you’re applying for AWS or Amazon, your interview experience will be different. It’s not unlikely that you may have engineers interviewing you for an AWS TAM interview, so also be prepared to speak to your technical abilities.
All of the above. Technical breadth is a must, want to see a broad set of tech knowledge, diving deep in one or two areas, and the LPs. Good Luck! DM me if any questions about the role.
Curious about this as well. Had a talk with an AWS recruiter about a TAM role. Not sure it’s for me, as I tend to think I’d suck at dealing directly with outside customers tearing my ears off.
Having 17 years dev experience, have PMTS offer from oracle cloud, but got call for Sr TAM role AWS interview from hiring manager. He likes my experience very much, but I worried about customer calls. Please share interview experience
How'd it go?
How was the interview process?

Yikes TAM sucks! Hopefully you're gonna be L5 or higher. Have metrics tied to all your answers.
Can you elaborate on the “sucks”? Work life balance or the kind of work in general ?
Kind of work in general. Doing an immense amount of queue based work and getting a brick wall when you have ideas to better process. So that's why I say I hope you're at a higher level so you then get to decide SOP standards
